2025 Africa Twin DCT ride modes

My dad just bought me a brand new 2025 Honda Africa Twin DCT for my 21st​ birthday, and I've been messing around with the User-1, User-2, Urban, and Tour settings.

I'm trying to find that sweet spot for optimum performance and the best fuel efficiency (MPG). Right now, I've just gone back to the factory default settings.

Anyone got any killer suggestions or custom setups that really work for them in these modes? I'd love to hear your ideas! Thanks a bunch

This bike is truly amazing, and it's a fantastic gift. If you're looking for a solid mix of performance and fuel efficiency on the Africa Twin DCT, many riders recommend setting the Power to low (about 1 bar), keeping traction control between low and medium, and turning engine braking up to maximum or close to it. Using D mode for your everyday rides really enhances the smoothness of shifts and improves milage.

Have you had a chance to play around with the Power and Traction Control settings in user modes? What type of riding do you usually do,is it mostly city, highway, or off-road?

That's an awesome birthday gift! Congratulations on the new Africa Twin! When I first got my 2016 DCT, I started messing around a lot with urban mode, thinking it would be the most forgiving but I found it a bit too restrictive for open roads. I ended up customizing it to have a slightly more aggressive engine braking and a little less power than default, which really helps with stop-and-go efficiency and control in traffic. The user modes are great for fine-tuning based on your specific riding style and local conditions. I would second @TwinTorque's idea and experiment with tweaking the HSTC and power levels first within those existing presets to see what feels best. Playing with those parameters will definitely get you closer to what you're looking for!
