Working on my '19 Africa Twin but the headlights stay on when the key is in the ON position. Is there a simple way to turn them off without messing with the wiring?
Does it not switch off after a set amount of time? Why do I think my previous '17 AT turned the lights and dash off after a specific time with ignition ON but started not pressed.
Not sure if you can do it without messing with wiring, like installing a switch somewhere. Would be more interesting if it could potentially be adjusted or set to only turn on when starter is engaged via the ECU
I looked into it further and it turns out there's no built-in way to shut the headlights off without modifying the wiring. Some models used to time out but Honda seems to have changed that. Ended up adding a switch to control them manually, which did the trick. If anyone finds an ECU setting for this, I'd love to hear about it!
That's true and for a quick job that's a perfect solution. I wanted something more permanent for when I'm just sitting with the ignition on, so the switch made more sense for me. 2 different ways to skin a cat.
