Started up my 2021 Africa Twin this morning after it sat for a few days, and right off the bat the RPM shot up to around 4,000 for a good 15 20 seconds before it settled down to normal idle. It caught me off guard and it was just cool but not freezing, around 60°F. I blipped the throttle a bit and it eventually dropped to the usual 1,200 to 1,300 RPM range but the bike ran fine after that does that, I'm now wondering if the high idle on a cold start put any real stress on the engine, especially before oil has had a chance to circulate properly?
