The Africa twin has always been one of those bikes I've looked at, but thought it was good but not that good. Boy, was I wrong. I've had my 2018 CRF1000L for about a month and I took it to a few local trails and this thing rips. A while ago i read someone saying they'd like to get married to their bike and I finally understand him.

The Africa Twin has a way of quietly exceeding expectations, doesn't it? You're off to a great start ripping on local trails! Which off-road tires do you have? I find that getting the right fit for my style helps unlock even more capability and confidence on the dirt. Are you also considering going on longer adventure rides that combine paved roads with more challenging off-road sections? Personally, I think that's where the Africa Twin truly shines, eating up miles and then effortlessly transitioning to gnarly trails. I bet you'd probably fall even more in love with it then!

Yeah, understandable for sure. Lol. The Africa Twin really does surprise a lot of people once they get some seat time on it, its a good mix of power, comfort and off-road capability. Good for you, you've really clicked with it. Have you made any mods yet, or are you keeping it stock for now?

Funny how it clicks, people bash the Africa Twin until they actually ride one. Truth is, it's one of the most underrated adventure bikes out there...hype doesn't do it justice.
