Hey guys, i was just wondering if i can run a tire inflator off the 12V on 2023 Africa twin? Can the socket handle the load, or should i connect it directly to the battery?

Yeah yeah it can, but if it's a high draw unit, you risk blowing a fuse or overheating the socket, so wire it directly to the battery with an inline fuse since you're dealing with heavy duty inflators, the little I have from the things I've tried out

Hmm, I'm sure it depends on the inflator, but most 12V sockets on bikes like the Africa Twin are limited to 5 amps or so. Best bet is to wire it straight to the battery with an inline fuse. Better safe than sorry!

I have a quick connect wired directly to the battery (via a fuse), where I can either plug in the compressor or my battery charger. Much easier than using the 12V socket.
